movie review : Beastly

Beastly starring Alex Pettyfer, Vanessa Hudgens and Mark-Kate Olsen is a drama. To me, this movie was almost a new-age Beauty and the Beast which I am assuming is what the directors were going for.

The pretty boy in highschool gets a spell cast on him by a fellow classmate wich gives him one season to have someone fall in love with him. The spell created scars and marks over his body making him not so gorgeous anymore. The spell is to force him to care for those other than himself...

His father moves him to another home where he hires a blind tutor to assist with schoolwork and a woman refugee to care for his everyday needs. Time goes by and by until he works up the bravery to seek out the girl he loves. He needs to get her to fall in love with him...he spends time capturing her in a sense to protect her from the druglords his father owes money to. .. but also for him to make her fall in love with him.

Finally he shows himself to her without his covering and she does indeed fall in love with him at the very last moment before the spell expires which would make him ugly forever.

This drama is a must see... i rate it with 4 stars since parts are hard to get into at times.

Movie Review : 127 hours

Finally had the opportunity to watch this drama .... 127 hours starrting James Franco. This movie is about a young man who LOVES everything outdoors...he ends up getting trapped in a Utah canyon when a boulder falls onto his arm. With his arm crushed beneath an unmoveable boulder, Aron spends his time reflecting on memories and his own strength and knowledge to get him through over the next 5 days that he is trapped.

This movie keeps you on the edge of your seat while you wait to see if Aron escapes his personal hell of being trapped in nature which he loves the best. He finally manages to get his arm free after some major pain ... he turned tragedy into triumph making you cheer in your seats for his bravery and knowldege of nature to keep himself going with the basics in the damp cold rocks of the canyon.

Must see!! ***** stars!

Book Review for "The Waiting Place"

Recently i recieved the opportunity to read the book called "The Waiting Place" written by Eileen Button. Overall this book wasn't the typical read I would choose but i would still give it a 3/5 stars based on its quality of information.

From first love, marriage to a pastor, birth to 3 wonderful children and even a traumatic experience with one of her children, Eileen takes you on a whirlwind of her life experiences until that final day where she "hears" from God ...her miracle that she was waiting for.

This novel is more of a memoir of her life, I found than "short essays" as others refer to "The Waiting Place" as being. Inspiration to a lot of different readers with struggles faced throughout life. Discouraging and enlighting I hope each of you take the chance to read this great book of writings.
